GLASGOW, Scotland – Pittsfield’s Kellie Harrington Thursday finished 24th in the junior cross country Olympic race at the UCI Cycling World Championships.

 

Harrington finished 7 minutes, 38 seconds behind the champion, Canada’s Isabella Holmgren, and in the top half of the field among 56 athletes from around the world.

 

Holmgren completed the race in 1:07:37, to finish 39 seconds ahead of runner-up Marin Lowe, also of Canada.

 

Harrington finished 21 seconds behind her Team USA teammate, Vida Lopez de San Roman in 23rd place.

 

The fastest American in the field was Andie Aagard, who placed eighth in 1:10:37.

 

Both Aagard and Lopez de San Roman compete with Harrington on the Bear Development team, based in Santa Cruz, Calif.
