SALISBURY, Md. – After a day of blowouts on Tuesday, the Mass Destruction 16-and-under travel softball team split a pair of close games on Wednesday at the USSSA Eastern Championship.

 

First, the Destruction beat the Panthers Select, 8-6.

 

Audrina Maloney drove in four runs, and Sadie Aitken went 2-for-3 with an RBI in a nine-hit attack.

 

Mia Arpante and Amanda Pou split time in the circle, allowing just two hits and two earned runs in the four-inning win.

 

The Destruction then fell to the Guilderland Bandits, 3-2.

 

Aitken went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI and Arpante drove in a run.

 

Pou took the loss in the circle, striking out two and scattering eight hits in 5 and one-third innings of work.
