NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Brandon Bamba scored 33 points in limited minutes Tuesday to lead the BArT Wolfpack to a 70-60 win over the Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School at the North Adams Armory.

Bamba had to sit down during the first half after getting a bloody nose after drawing contact from a member of the Dragons.

That allowed PVCICS to whittle away at a nine-point BArT lead and briefly take a 28-24 lead before Bamba returned with 1 minute, 40 seconds left in the half.

Reggie Delphia put back an offensive rebound to cut the deficit in half and got to the line. He missed his free throw, but Bamba put back the offensive rebound to tie it, 28-28, and that’s where it stood going to the break.

An 8-1 run in the middle of the second half allowed BArT to build a working margin.

Delphia (six points, 10 rebounds) got things started with a putback to make it 37-32.

The next time down, another Delphia offensive board led to a putback by Isaac Bamba (25 points).

Brandon Bamba scored in transition, and Issaac Bamba drove the lane for a bucket to end the run, which ended with BArT ahead, 45-33.

Berkshire Arts and Technology led by as many as 16 in the second half, and the Dragons were never able to again get within single digits.

Brandon Bamba shot 8-for-15 from the field and 12-for-15 from the free throw line on the way to his 33-point night. William Peets had 13 rebounds and three blocked shots.

“There was good and bad with this game,” BArT coach Robert Daugherty said. “The bad is that we did not execute our offense very well and we had terrible shot selection. The good is that we won with just defense and rebounding.

“Once we return to normal and add our offense as a third weapon, we will be a very difficult team to beat.”

The very good is that the win -- over a perennial stumbling block in the River Valley Athletic League playoffs -- likely wraps up first place in the league for BArT heading into next week’s RVAL tournament.
