Berkshire Force Teams Stay Alive in World Series Consolation Brackets

JENSEN BEACH, Fla. -- The Berkshire Force 12-and-under team Wednesday earned a convincing win to stay alive in the consolation bracket at the Babe Ruth World Series.
 
The Force dropped into the "Diamond Bracket" earlier in the day when it lost, 19-0, against Jefferson Parish (La.) West.
 
The Berkshire squad bounced back with a 10-0 win over Auburn, Maine, in an elimination game.
 
That sent the Force 12U squad to Thursday morning's rematch against the Maderia Beach (Fla.) Riptide; on Tuesday, the Force beat Mederia Beach in their pool play opener.
 
The Berkshire Force 10U team started its Wednesday with a win, beating the Arma (Kan.) Bulldogs, 11-1, but fell to Fern Creek (Ky.), 15-0, to fall into the consolation bracket.
 
The Force 10U squad Thursday will meet Summit Point, W.Va., for the second time in the national tournament. On Tuesday, the Force 10s beat Summit Point, 5-4, to open bracket play.
