JENSEN BEACH, Fla. -- The Berkshire Force 12-and-under and 10U softball teams each opened pool play with a win on Tuesday at the Babe Ruth World Series.

 

The 12U squad, which went 2-2 in pool play, opened bracket play with an 8-7 win over the Mederia Beach (Fla.).

 

On Wednesday morning, the Force will have a rematch against Jefferson Parish (La.) West, which on Tuesday morning handed the Force a 2-0 loss in pool play.

 

The Berkshire 10 squad played two bracket play games on Tuesday.

 

It opened with a 5-4 win over Summit Point, W.Va., but fell to Duplin County, N.C., 9-0.

 

The Force 10U team will be back in action on Wednesday in the double-elimination tournament, facing the Arma (Kan.) Bulldogs.
