STAMFORD, Conn. -- Christian Salzarulo threw a complete-game three-hitter Thursday to lead the Pittsfield Babe Ruth Baseball 13-year-old All-Stars to a 7-1 win over Keene, N.H., in the championship game of the New England Regional Tournament.

The win sends Pittsfield to the Babe Ruth World Series, scheduled for Aug. 8-15 in Westfield.

Nick Brindle had two hits, drew a walk and scored twice in an eight-hit Pittsfield attack on Thursday.

It drew first blood in the second inning when Damon Pause walked, stole second, went to third on Tommy Mullin's single and stole home.

In the third inning, Brindle and Antonio Scalise single ahead of a bunt single by Owen Salvatore as Pittsfield scored its second and third runs.

Walks by Walker Abdallah and Brindle helped fuel a three-run rally in the fourth.

In the fifth, Pause again got things started, this time with a single. He stole second, and Cam Sime singled to put runners at first and second. After that pair pulled off a double steal, Tommy Mullin's fielder's choice RBI gave Pittsfield its seventh run.

Pittsfield picked up its second win over the New Hampshire State Champs and went to 5-0 in at the regional.

Salzarulo picked up his third win on the mound. He also went .467 at the plate with seven hits.

Brindle led Pittsfield's offense with eight hits for a batting average of .421 and scored seven times.

Evan Blake hit .357 with five hits and seven walks. Antonio Scalise had six hits, and Pause worked eight walks and scored eight times.
