BOSTON, Mass. -- Lee’s Matt Kinnaman finished 71st in his division to post one of the strongest performances among Berkshire County residents competing at Monday’s 123rd Boston Marathon.
Kinnaman, 58, covered the 26.2 mile route from Hopkinton to downtown Boston in 3 hours, 13 minutes, 15 seconds.
The fastest county resident listed on the Boston Athletic Association’s list of official finishers on Monday evening was Great Barrington’s Nicholas Curelop, 30, who broke the three-hour mark, finishing in 2:58:18 to finish 1,603rd in his division.
The fastest woman across the finish line from the county contingent was Housatonic’s Kristen Vorisek, 40, who finished in 3:49:29 and placed 926th in her division.
Mount Greylock graduate Jacqueline Lemme, 27, now a resident of Somerset, N.J., placed 625th in her division, finishing in 3:31:56.
The top woman at Monday’s marathon was Ethiopia’s Worknesh Dgefa, 28, who finished in 2:23:31, 42 seconds ahead of runner-up Edna Kiplagat, 39, of Kenya.
The top American woman was California’s Jordan Hasay, 27, who finished in 2:25:20 to place third overall.
Kenya’s Lawrence Cherono, 30, was the top man on Monday, finishing in 2:07:57, just two seconds ahead of Ethiopia’s Lelisa Desisa, 29.
The first American man across the finish line was Arizona’s Scott Fauble, 27, who placed seventh in 2:09:09.
