PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Pittsfield Girls Softball League has announced that registration for the 2019 season is open for girls ages 6 to 19.
Individuals looking to sign up may go to www.pittsfieldgirlssoftball.com. The cost is $80 to register online. The league is divided into several divisions:
Tee ball, birth year 2013.
Coaches pitch, birth years 2011-12.
Rookie (U10), birth years 2008-2010
Minor (U12) – birth years 2006-07
Major, birth years 2000-05
Rookie Division evaluations for players new to the division will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 16, at Reid Middle School. Evaluations for the Minor Division will be the same day at Reid from noon to 2 p.m.
Tee-ball and coaches pitch teams will be formed prior to Opening Day which is scheduled for May 4.
For the Major Division (birth years 2000-05), evaluations will take place May 18, with a projected Opening Day for that division on June 17. The league will be offering weekly practice to players in eighth grade who are eligible for this division over the spring while they await the league start date.

The Pittsfield Girls Softball league offers leagues from tee ball to high school age at the Doyle Softball Complex on Benedict Road in Pittsfield, where there are four fields, two with lights, and a full concession stand. With nearly 300 girls participating, the league’s mission is provide a positive, fun, and competitive environment in order to assist in the development of our young athletes on a variety of levels.
