BLOOMFIELD, N.J. -- The Williams College women's golf team Sunday shaved seven strokes off its Day One score to come from behind and win the NYU Fall Invitational at Forest Hill Field Club.

 

Williams trailed host New York University by eight strokes after the first round.

 

But Sunday saw a 27-stroke swing to leave the Violets in second place in the seven-team field.

 

Williams' Cordelia Chan and Joanna Kim ended up tied for first place at 10-over-par for the tournament. Kim, who carded an 80 on Saturday, came back with a 74 on Sunday to move from seventh place to first.

 

Men's Golf

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Williams finished fifth out of eight teams at the Skidmore Invitational at Saratoga National Golf Club.

 

Sam Goldenring finished tied for second place, moving up from 11th place after Saturday's first round with a 4-under-par round of 68.

 

Women's Soccer

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Sarah Scire scored twice, and Pittsfield's Ilana Albert had an assist to lead Williams to a 2-1 win over Bowdoin.

 

Scire's second goal, an unassisted tally in the 48th minute, broke a 1-1 tie.

 

Olivia Barnhill stopped four shots to earn the win.

 

Williams (11-0-2, 7-0-1 NESCAC) goes to Tufts on Saturday.

 

Men's Soccer

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Chris Fleischer scored in the 59th minute to erase a one-goal deficit, and Williams salvaged a 1-1 tie against Bowdoin.

 

Aaron Schein made two saves for the Ephs (7-3-2, 3-2-2), who go to Hamilton on Wednesday.

 

Field Hockey

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Kate Gregory converted in the fifth round of penalty strokes to give the Ephs a 2-1 win over Bowdoin.

 

Williams also got a goal from Allie Weiner to win the shootout, 2-1.

 

Libby Dolan scored in regulation, giving Williams a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. The Polar Bears came back and tied it up before the end of the first half.

 

Abby Lloyd and Emma Santucci combined to stop five saves for Williams (8-3, 6-2), which goes to Mount Holyoke on Tuesday.
