PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Service Employee Employees International Union Local 888 has endorsed Tricia Farley-Bouvier's re-election as state representative for the 3rd District.

SEIU represents 2 million workers in the health care, public and property services. Farley-Bouvier, a Democrat, was first elected to the House in a special election in 2011 and represents all but one precinct in Pittsfield.

"We are proud to support Tricia Farley-Bouvier in her bid for re-election. In 2014, she stood tall with working families as a leader of the Raise Up agenda in the House to raise the minimum wage and bring earned sick time to our state. That took courage. As we continue that work on paid family medical leave and a $15 minimum wage, we need leaders with courage like Representative Farley-Bouvier," SEIU Local 888 President Mark DelloRusso said in a statement.

"SEIU has a strong history of supporting progressive causes including workers' rights, and working toward improving the lives of workers and their families. It is truly an honor to accept their endorsement," said Farley-Bouvier. "We have several issues that we both strongly support, and I look forward to working with SEIU to continue the fight for Pittsfield families."
