Celebrate The Purple One all weekend long with a Purple Reign Tribute Dance Party at Hotel on North on Friday night. DJ BFG will spin all your favorites from 9 p.m.-Midnight. No cover.
On Saturday night, come to the Whitney Center for the Arts for a Purple Rain Celebration, which will feature a special screening of the film, followed by music and dancing. No cover. Doors open at 6 p.m., screening begins at 7 p.m.
Costumes are encouraged for both events and The Whit will award prize money to to costume contest winners. Dress up as Prince, a member of his band, anything inspired by the 1980s, or wear purple and/or paisley. "Let's go crazy!"

It's the big kickoff event for BOOM (Berkshire Organization for Original Music). Come out and meet your creative and talented neighbors, and show your support for the arts! This national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids will be filled with fun, active and educational activities to help parents improve their kids' lifestyles for the long term. Enjoy face painting, arts and crafts, games, family fitness classes and fun food. Learn bike safety tips, get a vision or back screening and more. Please bring a new toiletry donation for Hope Baskets to support those who live in a local transitional home. 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. All ages welcome.
