Girls Inc. of the Berkshires is offering $10,000 in scholarships to senior girls attending high school in Berkshire County and entering a two- or four-year college in the fall. Applications must be postmarked by March 31.

For the first time, Girls Inc. of the Berkshires is awarding a $1,000 scholarship through the Rotary Club of Pittsfield.

“Rotarians come together to take action in their community. With a commitment to achieving lasting change, we work together to empower youth and to advance our community. This scholarship will do exactly that. This scholarship, awarded to a young woman in this community, will allow her to further her education and to make an impact on her community, her world,” said David Hall, president of the Pittsfield Rotary Club.

Additional scholarships are made possible by the Ruth P. Boraski Funds for Girls Inc. of the Berkshires ($6,000), Berkshire Community College Foundation ($1,000), Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts ($1,000) and Zonta Club of Berkshire County ($1,000). Applicants for the Berkshire Community College Foundation and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts scholarships must attend the respective college in fall of 2015 to receive the scholarship.

Applications are available in high school guidance offices, the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center (165 East St., Pittsfield) and online at www.BrighamCenter.org.
