LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — Deb Shops will close at the Berkshire Mall after the national corporation filed bankruptcy.

The clothing retailer won court approval last week to hold a going-out-of-business sale as they liquidate their assets, according to the Wall Street Journal. The company will be closing about 300 of its stores across the country.

The company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December and last Wednesday's ruling enabled the company to sell all items - including furniture - to pay overdue rents and creditors.

The company's website announces the store closing. Items are advertised to be 30 to 50 percent off and the stores are expected to remain open until all merchandise is sold.

Locally, Deb becomes the latest store in the Berkshire Mall to announce closures. Late in 2014, FYE announces the closure of their store and is holding a similar sale.

Radio Shack announced a closure early in 2015. Radio Shack in reportedly preparing to file bankruptcy as well.
