Gov. Deval Patrick marching in Pittsfield Fourth of July parade just one day after announcing the opening of the new office.
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Gov. Deval Patrick is opening a Pittsfield office for residents to meet with staff monthly.

According to Patrick's office, every fourth Tuesday of the month staff will be on hand in the East Street building from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The office will be located at 333 East Street, room 102.

"I serve as Governor of the whole Commonwealth," said Patrick in a statement on Tuesday. "And that means connecting with residents directly as much as possible. That’s what this new office in Berkshire County is about."

The first walk-in hours will be on July 24 and residents are not required to have a scheduled appointment. The program is a pilot and will be adjusted depending on the demand.

In 2008, Patrick re-opened a Springfield office and "provides a vital link between the State House and the western part of the state." The Pittsfield office is expected to do the same for Berkshire County residents.
