PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Pittsfield Colonials were held scoreless into the ninth inning as the Quebec Capitales used a pair of solo homeruns to snap the Colonials' six-game winnings streak, downing Pittsfield 2-1 Tuesday.
The Capitales got solo homeruns from Seth Henry in the first and Robert Wagner in the eighth to take a 2-0 lead. Pittsfield scored a run in the ninth on a Scott Knazek single and had the tying run on second. The comeback was not to be, however, as Quentin Davis lined out and Peter Fatse was doubled off of second base to end the game.
Bryan Rembisz (2-1) tossed five scoreless innings to earn the win. T. J. Stanton pitched the ninth to notch his fourth save. It was another tough luck loss for Miguel Flores (0-4) who allowed two runs while pitching into the eighth. He walked one and struck out six.
The third game against Quebec comes up on Wednesday, June 22, with the start time moved to 5 p.m. Eric Katzman will make his second start for Pittsfield against Dan Sausville (2-0, 4.44) for the Capitales. It will be Think Pink Ladies Health Awareness night. Fans who wear something pink to the game will receive two dollars off admission. Pregame on 89.7 WTBR will begin at 4:40.
