Stanley John Slonski

Stanley John Slonski, 85, of 108 Madison Ave. died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 3, 1922, son of Vincent and Mary Zervenski Slonski, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Slonski was employed as a construction worker for various companies, retiring at age 60. Before that, he was a self-employed tree surgeon for many years.
He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the Polish Falcons and Polish Community clubs.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and logging.
He and his wife, the former Helen M. Kania, were married Aug. 18, 1945, at All Saints' Church in Housatonic.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Stanley V. Slonski, Walter Slonski and Stephen J. Slonski, all of Pittsfield; four daughters, Patricia A. Herrick of Hancock, Christine M. Handy of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Elizabeth J. Gaynor of Tampa, Fla., and Barbara A. Slonski of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A son, William Slonski, died in 1991.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Stanley John Slonski, who died Monday, Dec. 25, 2007, will be conducted Friday at 9 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME by Monsignor Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor of Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be tomorrow from 8 to 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
