Michael Allen White, 72

July 10, 2023

PITTSFIELD, Mass. —  Michael Allen White, 72 of Pittsfield passed away with his loving wife at his side on July 10, 2023. Born on March 13, 1951 to Clara M. (Bartolomei) and Harvey White Sr of Norfolk, Massachusetts. He attended King Philip Regional High School in Norfolk Ma and studied psychology at Berkshire Community College. He retired as a machine operator at Fox River Paper company in Housatonic Ma.

Michael married Deborah Guilds White on July 13th, 2002, they would have celebrated there 21st Anniversary this year.

Michael was a true outdoorsman. As an avid fisherman, he spent many days rain or shine fly fishing and casting lines in the brooks, rivers and lakes throughout Berkshire county and even off the coast of Cape Cod. He could spend hours exploring hiking trails, taking photos and journaling his experiences. He also had a love for Golf and continued to better his game while continuing to bask in the beautiful world around him. He had been known to be great at cards and played at many poker tournaments locally and online.

An amazing artist and creator of many things, Michael carved walking sticks from wood he would find on his many trail adventures and created wood trinkets too, he crafted his own flies for fishing, and found enjoyment making clay animals, and artfully documenting is adventures in chalk drawings. He often gave away these homemade souvenirs to family and friends.

He was very proud of his flower gardens that he, his wife and friends planted; and recently created a bed of roses. As with the outdoor flower gardens he also had a green thumb for indoor plants and was most impressed with his 8ft bamboo plant and succulents that brought nature home to him.

He cherished his family and friends, and was so full joy being a “Grampy” to Neviah and Micah. He had tremendous love for his pups Isabella and Zoe and his grand pups too. Michael was a gentle, soft spoken man and he had a light hearted comedic personality which instantly made people smile. He cared deeply for those in his life and was always there to lend a helping hand.

Michael appreciated times of solitude which is where he deepened his spiritual awareness, he often meditated and journaled. The words of Ken Wilber resonated with him and he embraced these philosophies in his everyday life.

He is survived by his loving wife Deborah, His brother Harvey A. White Jr. of Texas and sister, Janice Albert of Florida, two step daughters Michele and Husband Antonio Johnson and their daughter Neviah of Virginia, Nicole and Jeremy Johnson and their son Micah of Cheshire, two sons Jameson M. White of Massachusetts, Steven J. White of Connecticut and daughter Mindy L. Ott of Massachusetts.
