Patricia E. Brundage, 68

June 29, 2018


PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Patricia Ellen Brundage, 68, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018. 



The daughter of the late Ernest and Helen Prendergast Brundage, she was born in Pittsfield on October 21, 1949, brought up in Williamstown and graduated from the former St. Joseph’s High School in North Adams. Patti attended Regis College and graduated from the University of New Hampshire. 



In her youth, she was an avid downhill skier and an accomplished horsewoman, competing locally and riding with the McMahon family and DeMayo family of Williamstown. Patti worked in costuming for Williamstown Theatre Festival. For many years she was a costumer for Eaves Costumes in New York City, working on Broadway in the production of Charles Dickens’ Nicholas Nickleby, in television including the Today Show and Saturday Night Live, and in films, including "The Cotton Club." Patti was a member of the Theatrical Costume Union.



Returning to Williamstown in the late 1980s, she shared her talents in landscaping and floral design. She was a member and past president of the Williamstown Garden Club and worked at the Williams College Faculty Club and Mt. Williams Florist. For a number of seasons, she was a costume designer at Oldcastle Theatre in Bennington, Vermont.



For the past nine years, Patti made her home in Vero Beach, Florida. She was an active volunteer at McKee Botanical Gardens, and served on the pool and landscape committees at Vista Gardens. 



Patti leaves her aunt, Marian Delong Brundage; many dear friends, and her cousins, including Steve and Karen Brundage Blazejewski, Kevin and Donna Manners Brundage, John and Lisa Brundage Manley, Susan MacWilliams, David and Deborah Petersen MacWilliams, Scott and Leanne Curran MacWilliams, Jeff and Margaret MacWilliams Bell, William Mars, Pamela Magill George, John and Sheila Domenechini Bouley, Michael and Helen Bouley, Kent and Beth Cumblad Bouley, and Heather Bouley Smith; Sheila Sullivan, Kerry Sullivan, Amy Prendergast Green, Patrick Prendergast, Keith and Bridget Prendergast Roy, Tim and Sarah Prendergast Auxier, Gerry and Kate Prendergast Burke, Scott and Mary Beth Goggins Eldridge, James and Pam Myers Goggins, Tom and Ginny Vahle Goggins, Bill and Margaret Farrell Goggins, Edmund and Trish Goggins Dabrowski, and Martin and Catherine Goggins Blagdurn; as well as their children and grandchildren. 



She was predeceased by her cousins Kathryn MacWilliams Buck, Kristy MacWilliams Mars and Tom Green.



Funeral notice: Donations in Patti Brundage’s memory may be made to McKee Botanical Gardens, the Scully-Welsh Cancer Center, or the Williamstown Garden Club in care of the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 74 Marshall St., North Adams 01247. A celebration of her life will be held in late November.
