Agnes C. Wasuk, 98

September 30, 2017


PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Agnes C. Wasuk, 98, formerly of Lakewood Village on Lakewood Drive, passed away on September 30, 2017, at Sweetbrook Rehabilitation & Nursing of Williamstown, where she had resided since 2009. 



Born in Pittsfield on February 6, 1919, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma Proctor Haner. A longtime Pittsfield resident, she was educated in New York schools. She married her husband, the late John E. Wasuk, on August 31, 1935, in New York. He died on December 20, 1982. 



A homemaker, she had worked at one time at General Electric in the Ordnance Division and at the former Eaton Paper Company. Agnes was a former member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and the 59ers Club. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. 



She leaves two sons, John E. Wasuk and his wife Patricia of Lenox and Donald J. Wasuk and his wife Judith of Dalton; two sisters, Blanche Clausen of Bradenton, Fla., and Iris Sachs of Copake Falls, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren. 



She was predeceased by her daughter; Beverly Enright; her son-in-law, John Enright; three brothers, Harold, Lawrence and George Haner; and a sister, the late Margaret Stiffler. 



Funeral notice: Funeral services for Agnes C. Wasuk of Pittsfield, who passed away September 30, 2017, will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield conducted by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor of St. Agnes Church in Dalton. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. 



Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations in memory of Agnes may be made to Elder Services of the Berkshires or to the Alzheimer’s Association both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
