A neighbor reported heavy smoke coming from the front porch of 122 Allengate Avenue.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Firefighters saved a home from a blaze on Allengate Avenue.

Fire officials say around 8 p.m. a neighbor called to report smoke coming from the eaves of the front porch at 122 Allengate Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the eaves, rolled out hoses, and knocked it down.

From there, they found the fire had made its way to the attic, and firefighters then worked on snuffing out the blaze there. Utilities were cut off from the home.

There were no injuries reported and as of shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday, there was no determination of the cause. A fire investigator was called and arrived on the scene around 9:15 p.m.

The fire was knocked down quickly. It is not known whether or not the occupants were home at the time.
