WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Police are still investigating the attempted theft of copper from a Williams College student housing building on the day of new student orientation.
According to Police Chief Kyle Johnson, Tyler Morgan, 20, of North Adams was arrested and charged with larceny over $250, malicious destruction of property over $250 and misleading the police on Tuesday.
Johnson said in an e-mail that Police responded to suspicious activity at the Tyler House, which the school uses for upper class housing, where at least two individuals attempted to steal copper drainpipes.

DALTON, Mass. — Firefighters and police are investigating two simultaneous house fires near South Street, possibly as cases of arson.
According to Fire Chief Gerald Cahalan, the department responded to a structure fire at 73 Greenridge Drive at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday. In transit, firefighters spotted another blaze at 36 Evelyn St. The homes are less than a block away from each other.
He had expected to have a clearer idea of which way the investigation would go later in the day.

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — A resident reported that a car was broken into in the North Hoosac Road area sometime in the last two days.
Kevin Stant said nothing was stolen from the vehicle but that it was broken into sometime in the last 36 hours. He said police has been notified but also wanted to warn the public.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Adam Hall will face an additional intimidation of a witness charge after a second grand jury re-indicted the three men accused of committing the triple murder of three city men.
The additional intimidation of a witness charge is added to three counts of murder, three counts of kidnapping and four counts of intimidation of a witness that Hall,32, was facing. Hall had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on all charges at an arraignment earlier this week.
