PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A man was killed by a CSX train on Depot Street Tuesday night.
Police are mum on details but confirmed that an unidentified man was struck by what looked to be a two-car cargo train. It appears that the man was walking along the tracks around 7 p.m. when he was struck by the westbound train.
As of midnight, Depot Street was closed to through traffic while investigators were on the scene.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Pittsfield Police are reporting an armed robbery occurred on Saturday, Feb. 25, at approximately 9:55 p.m. at the Lipton Mart located on West Housatonic Street.
The suspect is a short, thin, white female who was wearing a black jacket with fur around the hood, black-hooded sweat shirt, black mask, black gloves and black pants. She carried a small black handbag and displayed a small handgun.
The suspect's vehicle was described as a slate blue smaller sport utility vehicle.
Police believe the suspect is the same person responsible for the recent Elm Street armed robberies and that she may be changing vehicles for each incident.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mayor Daniel Bianchi is stepping up his neighborhood watch initiative in the wake of an outburst of armed robberies.
Bianchi issued a statement Thursday afternoon calling the string of robberies on Elm Street "concerning and completely unacceptable." He is calling on residents to contact the Police Department if they had seen or heard something that may be helpful in solving the crime.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Police are investigating another series of armed robberies on Elm Street.
According to Police, within the last three weeks, Angelina's Sub Shop, Getty Gas Station and Palmer's Variety were all robbed.
The suspect is a short, thin, white female wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask, black gloves and black pants. She carries a small black handbag and displays a small handgun. She may be driving a dark or olive green sport utility vehicle.
